Dancing YIP-ies in Stockholm

"I could see people that were so touched by the dance and music that they where crying!"

See a video of the dance at YouTube.

After being part of the most widespread of climate change action days ever, 24th of October 2009, I felt that YIP had a magical energy to bring into such events. It felt that everything we were touching was turning into gold!

With this energy in my body, I went for a preparation meeting for another climate action day, 30 days before the Climate Summit in Copenhagen.

On the train to the meeting, I remembered Albert Einstein's words: "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them". I felt that the meaning of these words is something that emerges within YIP. Our movement is not coming from within.

We have the opportunity to see the whole picture from outside and come with renewable, sustainable solutions. Most of what we do at YIP is done with joy and hope. For me, to have the feeling of oneness and to do something co-creatively, is to enjoy life.

So, together with three guys from three different green organizations I decided that YIP was going to organise a climate dance! Well, the rest is history.

The burning flame from YIP was being transferred into the wet grey autumn day in the heart of Stockholm. I could see people that were so touched by the dance and music that they where crying!

The feeling of oneness, the feeling that humanity is coming together is inflaming people. A reconnection with the human being and nature is crucial for a fair, ambitious and binding climate treaty in Copenhagen.

Thanks to everyone from YIP who were brainstorming and participating, and also a big thanks to Klimataktion, WWF, Fältbiologerna and the other organisations that were active during the 7th of November!
