Overview: Questions asked in the Application Form
The Application Form asks you to answer a wide array of questions. Some may be hard to answer without thinking about it first. This is a list of the questions you'll have to answer.
Please note: The text fields are not very large. You will not need to write large amounts of texts – unless you really want to.
Personal information
- First name
- Last name
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Nationality with which you apply
If you have multiple nationalities, select one with which you want to apply. Choose the one with which it will be easiest to get residence permit for Sweden. - Maritial status
- Portrait Photograph (optional)
You can upload a recent portrait photograph of yourself here instead of attaching a paper copy with your final application papers. The file must be a .jpg file no larger than 1MB, and at least 300 pixels along the longest side. Uploading the photo can take some minutes, depending on the size of the file you are uploading. Please note: Do not upload a copy of your passport, just a photo of yourself.
Residential address
- Phone
- Street
- City
- Zip/Postal code
- State/Region (if applicable)
- Country
If you use another address for correspondence (e.g. a P.O. box) you will be able to write that information into specified fields as well. We ask for both residential and correspondence address.
For the correspondence address you can choose an optional date range within which the address is valid. This is in case you are not living at home for some of the time (e.g. at a boarding college) and want to have YIP direct all communication to this address only whilst you're still there. Outside of the date range the residential address will be used.
Emergency contact
In case of emergency, who should we contact? The best is a close relative or friend.
- Contact's full name
- Contact's relationship to you
Is it a parent, sibling, spouse, other relative, friend or other. If you specify 'other', you'll be asked to describe that relationship. - Contact's e-mail (optional)
- Phone – day
- Phone – night (if different from 'Phone – day')
- Street or P.O. Box
- City
- Zip/Postal code
- State/Region (if applicable)
- Country
- Which languages does your emergency contact speak?
This will let us know which language(s) to use if contacting your emergency contact.

Rows that don't apply to you can be left empty. Feel free to attach any additional information with your application papers. - Work experience
You'll be asked to enter your previous relevant work experiences. Write the type of work together with start and end year. - How did you hear about YIP? (optional)
We are interested in knowing how you got to know about YIP, but this is not a required field, so you don't have to fill it out.
